Helman House and Cottages ~ Old Ashland Charm, Short Walk to the Plaza

★HOME OVERVIEW★

One and a half blocks away from Main St. on a quiet, tree-lined street you’ll find old-Ashland charm in the Helman House and Cottages. Convenient to the many theaters—including the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival—boutique shops, award winning wineries, and restaurants Ashland is famous for, The Helman House is a home away from home for visitors eager to experience all Southern Oregon has to offer.

Your reservation will include the Helman House and two cottages behind the house (sleeps 16).

★SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS★

We can sleep 16 total!

Front House Bedroom 1: King Bed, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower

Front House Bedroom 2: 2 Queen beds. This bedroom is up a narrow staircase and has no door.

Front House Living Room: Queen fold out couch

There is another full bathroom with bathtub off of the kitchen

Studio A: King Bed and Queen fold out couch and ensuite bathroom with bathtub

Studio B: King Bed and Queen fold out couch and ensuite bathroom

★LIVING AREA★

Relax on our sofas and stream your favorite shows on our Smart TVs (Roku). Enjoy access to Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and Apple TV by simply entering your password. There are 3 TVs total. One in each unit.

★KITCHEN★

The kitchen in the front house is perfect for simple meal prep when you need a night in. You'll find all your basics to get breakfast, lunch or dinner on the table. Enjoy a 2-in-1 coffee maker with both Keurig and drip options. Each studio is equipped with its own efficient kitchenette so you can have a cup of coffee before joining the rest of the group!

There are 4 full bathrooms total including 2 bathtubs (Front house and Studio A). Towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided.

★LAUNDRY ROOMS (yes, plural!)★

There is a full sized washer and dryer in the bathroom in the front house and another one in studio A!

★PARKING★

There are 2 off street parking spaces reserved for you behind the house as well as ample street parking.

★FRONTYARD★

Enjoy a cup of coffee on our Adirondack chairs while people watching or a quick bite on our table for 4 on the front porch.

★RESTAURANTS & BARS★

The best of the best on the Ashland Plaza is a 6 minute walk away!

★HEATING & AC★

The main house has a central heat and AC. The studios are equipped with window units that have both heat and AC.

Perfect for a multi-party or family gathering, the Helman House and Cottages provide comfort and convenience for all.

Please note that the wall shared by both studios is relatively thin as far as soundproofing goes.

For safety, there is a ring doorbell at the front door. It is active 24/7. Video and sound recording is motion activated. The home is also equipped with a decibel monitoring sensor located inside and outside of the home. It is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property. Tampering with or disabling the ring doorbell and noise monitoring sensor will immediately cancel the reservation.

There is a pet fee of $150 (up to 2 pets)

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

- You will be asked to sign a rental agreement.

- A security deposit is required. A security deposit hold of $500 will be placed on the guest's credit card.

- The minimum age to rent is 21

- No smoking

- Garden maintenance occurs on Fridays. Our team ensures the garden remains in excellent condition for your enjoyment.

Cancellation Policy: 50% refund up until 60 days prior to arrival. No refund if cancelled within 60 days.

Unapproved late checkouts will incur an additional charge of $300.

Our family loved everything about our stay! The location is less than half a mile to the OSF--we felt safe and comfortable walking, even after the plays ended around 11PM, back to the Helman House. We appreciated that the lights were labeled and check-in/out/entry was so easy. We appreciated the roominess of the property, A/C, and provision of ample towels and bedding. We loved the uber comfortable beds and furnishings--which were not overcrowded nor sparse--everything was just right for our four-day, three-night stay.

My family total 9 was driving through on the way home from Labor Day weekend trip when we stopped by downtown for dinner. Over dinner we decided to rest since we had been traveling all day. I was so surprised to find this gem available for Labor Day, when we booked it was 8pm and weren’t sure anyone would be available to confirm booking. Our large travel family loved using Sylvie’s place for a week in Ashland. We took over all four spaces (and four bathrooms!) and felt very spoiled. Good beds, nice linens, plenty of towels. Of special note- the privacy of the back units was appreciated by our couples We used every inch of the front house, too. The front porch was enjoyable every day. Both the rocking chairs and the table. Walking into Ashland was a breeze- a quick stroll. Less than a 15 min walk to see the OSF plays we booked. Tons of dining and shopping. Lose to great hiking too.

The location cannot be beat! We rented the entire property which means the main house, and then two studios in the back (separate entrances). This worked well for our families with five kids of varying ages and bedtimes between us. This house set up, like many in Ashland, is a bit of the older style - the kitchen is small and the bathroom/bedroom layout is a bit funky (two bathrooms downstairs in the main home, none upstairs) but truly you cannot beat the location and comfort. Everything was very clean when we arrived, and you are maybe two blocks from the main drag - we walked everywhere, even with all the kids! Beds are comfy and the living room has space to sprawl. Wonderful front porch to have coffee on here in the late Spring weather.

We had a few small families staying for a State Ski competition and Sylvia’s place was perfect! Location was right near the activities for the racers and really close to town for the teens to go do their thing. The house ended up as “the adults house” and the space was perfect to gather together. There were only 6 of us there, and the studios were great, and we could still come together and cook the one night nothing was going on. So clean and comfortable and had everything we needed! Top notch!

The Helman Street Guest Houses were a great retreat for our family's multi-generational family vacation. We had three families meet up and use the main house and two studios for our spring break. There was plenty of space for the nine of us and our dogs. The location was wonderful and was a quick walk to the main downtown area. Communication was easy with Sylvie and they were always quick to respond. We would love to come back to the Helman House for a future family vacation!

Our family group had a wonderful stay at Helman House! Sylvie was great to work with, very responsive and helpful. The property has been set up really well with great attention to detail. There were lots of nice extras for convenience (good kitchen tools, lots of extra blankets and pillows, nice TVs, board games and puzzles) and safety (first aid kits, clear labels and instructions everywhere). We had 6 adults, 1 small child, and 2 dogs, and there was enough space for everyone to feel comfortable together and also to have privacy when needed. We especially appreciated the dog-friendly touches, like extra food and water bowls, and special towels for wiping muddy paws! All the beds were comfortable and towels and linens were very clean. The neighborhood felt pleasant and safe, and was close to nice parks for dogs and kids to play. Helman house is managed very professionally and we had no problems or complaints whatsoever. Would be glad to stay again!

We had a touring party of 10 and so we rented the entire property, which was an INCREDIBLE value: Everyone had a lovely private sleeping space and enough bathrooms and lounging areas with really thoughtful touches and lots of cooking utensils/etc for us to relax, recharge, and prepare some meals at home. This Airbnb listing is absolutely perfect for accommodating larger groups of people! Our stay was fantastic, thanks to the thoughtful design that includes detached studios for added privacy, along with a spacious main house boasting incredibly comfortable beds- such a plus. The Helman House (Mega) was the absolute perfect home for our stay in Ashland. We are a group of eleven 25-45 year old women going through a certification program and our teacher is in Ashland. It took us so long to find the perfect place for us to stay in Ashland as our group is so big. We really wanted to stay together, close to downtown Ashland, and this house made that possible. The beds were all so comfortable, the living room was perfect for having our circles in, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathrooms were great. Both of the two apartments were well furnished and just as lovely as the main house. Sylvie (the owner) and Kat (her PA) were wonderful hosts and we are so grateful we stayed here. We will absolutely stay here again next time we come together in Ashland!
