Beautiful house with lots of open space. The kitchen was great for our group of 10 as was the dining room. The kitchen table even provided a great place for card games. The backyard pool complete with water toys and the game room really added a positive touch.

We came with our youth group (18 people total). The house matched the description, the kids had fun in the pool, and the layout was functional. The kitchen was a bit small for cooking for large groups, but the outdoor area also has a grill and a long table for eating outside. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the backyard! The casita was cozy and clean, with a nice modern touch. I recommend this place, the value is great, and the host was very accommodating. No complaints! There is a food truck one block from the house (1 -2 min walk), and there is a breakfast restaurant (Snooze AM Eatery) nearby as well (10 minute walk).

Very cute place. I needed a comfortable place to stay while visiting an ill family member in town. The studio was clean and the bed was comfortable. I am not sure I would have preferred if I were traveling with my husband or a friend, it is very small. Perfect for a solo traveler. If you go, you have to eat dinner at the Brickroom and have coffee and a pastry at the Mix. So good!

Sylvie’s “picture perfect studio” is another name for this extraordinary experience. We stayed in studio B on Hellman St. and walked to “A Midsummer Nights Dream,” for the most magical evening. We walked to get ice cream and were greeted by local deer! This place is so walkable!!!! Sylvie was on top of every comfort including preparing an air conditioned unit for us upon our arrival. The kitchenette had every thing you could want (great hot coffee) and need (an ice cold fridge)! The towels and linens were fresh and stocked in abundance. We have been going to Ashland to see plays for over 50 years (yes 50!) and we have stayed in types of places over that time from Koa Campsites, to upscale and downscale Hotels and rentals. By far our best experience has been at this beautiful little cottage that is a 10 min walk to the plays and an abundance of restaurants.The housecleaning was immaculate, no issues and the house had everything the description claimed, including two studio apartments detached from the original house. The instructions for entering the house were as straightforward and simple as any other place we have stayed at. The kitchen is fully functional and we saved money by eating breakfast and lunch at the house rather than going out. It was a short walk to the afternoon and evening plays and takes less than 10 min to get to the theaters. It is sidewalks the entire way so no getting shoes or clothes dirty. The bedrooms were comfortable, large King and Queen sized beds with plenty of fresh bedding. Overall, I would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a cozy, convenient and fun little rental especially if it is a large family or multiple family group. Between the two large bedrooms in the main house and the two studios in back and the fold out couches etc it is ideal for larger groups. Long driveway with parking in back so parking several cars is no issue.5 stars all the way and 2 thumbs up (I would give it 10 thumbs up if I had that many thumbs!).

The location was great and the space was clean. It is essentially a basic studio style apartment/converted garage. The adjacent house is also a rental, but we had no noise or other issues with those guests. As other reviews note, the entrance is awkward with the AC sticking out into the main path, but certainly navigable. I traveled with pets and there is a small park nearby, but otherwise just small patches of grass along the street for bathroom breaks. I was there during an unusually hot weather spell, so the AC unit was working hard but not making much progress. A small fan would help circulate the air when the nights cool off. Also, this space does not have an area to sit outside & relax unless you take the small chairs outside.

We went to Ashland for a family wedding and made the weekend a family get together as well since we found a house big enough to accommodate us all. It was absolutely perfect. The pool and hot tub and back house were perfect for the 20 something's and the rest of us could go to sleep and not hear a thing. The house was cozy but spacious. Close to town and just awesome.

We loved staying at the Helman House! It was so close to downtown, Lithia Park, and all of the theatres. We walked everywhere! We rented the house and both studios, and it worked well for our family (four adults and a pair of kids). Dining seating was a bit snug for all of us together, but we worked it out, and the shared living room and outdoor spaces were lovely. Ashland was in a heat wave while we were there, but all the rooms stayed very cool with the AC. The beds were very comfortable! We would definitely stay again if we return to Ashland.

Nicely furnished new home located in a quiet neighborhood in Talent. Beds and bedding are very comfortable. Kitchen is very well equipped, only thing missing were mixing/salad bowls. Didn't use outdoor area (a little chilly), although it looked very inviting. We rode our bikes from the house to the bike trail then up to Medford and back, very easy ride! Drive into Ashland was quick and easy as well.

Stayed 3 nights with my sister-in-law. So much room! But best of all we saw 4 shows and never had to get in our car once. Everything is walkable. Enjoyed downtime on the front porch. Hope to come back in the fall with her mother--there's room for all of us. One note for those who prefer pitch black for sleeping--bring an eye mask. Skylights are great for daytime, less so for mornings.

Staying at the Beach street cottage was a great experience. I was there for two weeks while attending a class in Ashland. Sylvie was super communicative and helpful and offered some great solutions to a few challenges I had with packing and unpacking the bicycle I brought with me. The place is terrific. My only suggestion is to be clear that it is generous to call it an efficiency - the sink is a bathroom vanity sink so washing dishes or cooking is a challenge. Apart from that it is great and I would happily stay there again. Silver was nothing short of fantastic and super responsive.

My only criticism is that the folks in the main house were loud AF until almost 11pm. Not the end of the world, and didn't want to complain about it, but this studio is attached to the main house - just something to keep in mind if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful home. I was truly envious - I wanted to live there. Given our bad knees, it was a blessing that there was a bedroom with king-size bed and ensuite on the first floor. Bed was comfortable; the deck peaceful; the pool clean and fun. Neighborhood enchanting with so many craftsman homes. While this house was too big for just me, hubby and Lab Scout, it definitely will be the rental we pick for a meet up spot between California and Washington families. The house was perfect for a large group with babies. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which was very nice. The house also came with a pack-n-play and a high chair upon request which was helpful with babies. In fact, I asked for the high chair late, and they were still able to make it happen. Big kitchen, plenty of parking, and great location very close to downtown Ashland and the college.

We had a great stay at this bungalow in East Cesar Chavez for a guys’ weekend in Austin. The location is a major plus — close to downtown and easy to get around, while still feeling like your own home base. The house comfortably fit our group of five and offers plenty of beds, which makes it appealing for larger groups. The layout leans more toward maximizing sleeping space than indoor gathering space, so we found ourselves spending most of our time outside rather than around a dining table. The pool and patio were the highlight and a big reason we booked. At night, we recommend Ubering since the walk under I-35 can feel uncomfortable. Sylvie was responsive and easy to work with. Overall, a great group spot in a prime location.

Its hard to infer from the photos as there are no exterior pics, but the place is a stand alone metal skinned ADU in the backyard of a single family home. Its very compact and designed like a Swiss army knife, but it has everything you would need at a typical BnB. I was traveling solo and it was perfect, might get a little crammed with more than 2 people in there. Host was very good at communication. Cenote on 7th had the best brunch, had to double-dip there.

This place was perfect for our one night stay in Austin! It felt so nice to have the fence all around the property and the gate for our car for added security and privacy. The place was close to downtown Austin and it had a little park nearby which was nice to walk through. Overall, the place had everything we needed and more! The only thing to take a note of is the 1 bathroom in the house can be tricky with 7 people but we made it work. Also, the additional room is outside the main house, so there is really only 3 rooms inside the house which was a little confusing but luckily we did not really need that extra room.

My family and I stayed at Sylvie's house while we visited the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The house was everything we needed - coffee and tea in the kitchen, comfortable and within a short walking distance to downtown Ashland. We appreciated that when coming out of a show at 11pm in the evening. The HVAC had gone out just before we arrived, and Sylvie was on it. She set up space heaters in the house before we got there and kept in touch with us daily on when the heat would be restored. We were comfortable. She also gave us $200 back on our rental fee. I recommend staying there!

When we did have to drive, the uber/lyft cost was only $10. The house and backyard was very clean and provided clear instructions, making check in and out easy. We had a little trouble checking in, as the code for the front door wasn’t working. Sylvie responded and was able to get the door to unlock in about 30 minutes. The Wifi was uneven and may need a “boost.” The pool and hot tub were fabulous. Everyone in our group felt comfortable in their bedroom and en suite bath. All beds were extremely comfortable. One thing I especially appreciated was that Sylvie was very responsive, but she did not make extraordinary demands on us, the guests. We had one of the easiest checkouts I have ever experienced. This spot was a life saver - I had the Fairfield Inn, about a mile away, cancel on me last minute and was able to book this spot asap at 6p that same evening. The space is cute and prefect for what I needed. I was working just a block away so I could walk to/from. There are many restaurants in the area and a great coffee shop about 3 blocks away. It's about a $7 uber ride to Rainey St. (with tip!)

Our large travel family loved using Sylvie’s place for a week in Ashland. We took over all four spaces (and four bathrooms!) and felt very spoiled. Good beds, nice linens, plenty of towels. Of special note- the privacy of the back units was appreciated by our couples We used every inch of the front house, too. The front porch was enjoyable every day. Both the rocking chairs and the table. Walking into Ashland was a breeze- a quick stroll. Less than a 15 min walk to see the OSF plays we booked. Tons of dining and shopping. Having the pool was a delight especially with the Austin sun! We loved sitting outside together at night in the backyard once the sun went down. The location cannot be beat! We rented the entire property which means the main house, and then two studios in the back (separate entrances). This worked well for our families with five kids of varying ages and bedtimes between us. This house set up, like many in Ashland, is a bit of the older style - the kitchen is small and the bathroom/bedroom layout is a bit funky (two bathrooms downstairs in the main home, none upstairs) but truly you cannot beat the location and comfort. Everything was very clean when we arrived, and you are maybe two blocks from the main drag - we walked everywhere, even with all the kids! Beds are comfy and the living room has space to sprawl. Wonderful front porch to have coffee on here in the late Spring weather.

The only thing is that as a non-local of Austin, I dont know the area at all so I always google maps the street view of where I am staying and it looked like it was gonna be in a quiet neighborhood street but it was actually on a main street with a lot of traffic coming by next to the main house. I stayed 5 nights at the place. The pictures are accurate and the communication with Sylvie was great. The bed/mattress was super comfortable. There was an issue with the blinds, which Sylvie was able to resolve. Location, is up to your own wants. For me I did explored - bars, food that were on the East Side. I was able to walk (up to 30 mins) to the places I wanted to. Also, if you do want to go to Downtown, then Rainey Street is only 15 mins walk and then a few more minutes to the rest of Downtown. However, the Main Street that the place is on is not picturesque and it is the main road. The place is at the back of the main house and is quiet. I did not have a car, however, if you do, then this place has its own parking space which is really great and a short drive then to anywhere. I utilised a mixture of public transport and Uber & Lyft to get around, which worked for me. I would recommend this to anyone who want to stay in the cool East Side.

I would definitely stay here again. The space was warm during my stay even though it was snowing outside. The radiant heat floors were amazing! I was planing on eating out at the restaurants Ashland has to offer but the snow kept me inside. I was able to cook my meals and make coffee everyday. Some things to note for other guests. The refrigerator is in the same room as the bed. If you are sensitive to sounds while sleeping make sure you are prepared. While the studio is all on one level, the walkway to the studio is very narrow because the air conditioner overhangs the walkway. If you have a mobility aid, like a walker, you might not be able to fit. Overall I love the location and space. I have already recommended it to others to stay in while in Ashland.

Perfect little spot for passing through. Bright and charming little cottage, well designed for one person and four legged companions. Located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood just above downtown Ashland, easily walkable if you’re okay with a little bit of a longer stroll. The cottage is easy to find, the walkway does have a small section narrow halfway down from the A/C. It’s easily navigable but a little annoying if you’re carrying anything. The heated floors were a treat and the bed is wonderfully stiff.

Great little place to stay for a few nights. Small space, but for the price it's just right. Bed is very comfy, and the in floor heat is nice on cold mornings. Just a quick drive or long walk into the cute little town of Ashland. Room was very clean and we appreciated that! Great communication from the host before and during our stay.

Sylvie's place was a very peaceful and comfortable stay. The space is neat and orderly and great for one person (or a couple). Sylvie is very responsive and communicates well. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and if you like to walk it's a fairly easy stroll to the Safeway and a quick walk to the University and a doable walk to Morning glory restaurant. Far enough away from the hustle bustle but not too far. Highly recommended.

My husband and I loved our short stay at this cozy property. Host sent very clear directions and everything was as pictured. Shower was nice and we enjoyed the small fridge and microwave. We had our dog with us and all went well. Walked to one of our favorite breakfast places (Morning Glory) and just a short 5 min. drive to theaters. We also hiked and wine tasted. Perfect location for us. We would definitely stay again.

Silvie's place was amazing! We loved the modern decor and cleanliness this rental provided for our extended family of 11 members, including 5 children. The location was perfect for exploring Ashland and the surrounding area, and we loved all of the amenities, including the pool, guest house (where two family members stayed), and gym (although we didn't end up using it). We also appreciated the helpful labeling of cabinets and light switches throughout the house. And it was great to have a washer and dryer on the second level! We'd love to stay here again if the circumstances allow!

Great stay for 10 people. The pool/hot tub/gym space was great and made for a nice family stay during a hot spell! The property was well equipped with amenities and also had plenty of basic items you didn’t need to worry about. Walkable to downtown Ashland and proximity to Lithia Park was great. Will definitely try to stay again next year.

We enjoyed our stay---there was plenty of room for everyone, and the location was 5 minutes away from our event. Only negative was that the recreational activities were broken (corn hole board & volleyball ring). The teenagers were looking forward to playing. Nevertheless...the property was perfect.

We loved this place. The kitchen was the best we've ever seen in an airbnb rental. There was a swimming pool, hot tub, and small gym. Awsome! We liked how all the switches were labeled so you knew what they were for. The place is very roomy. Very clean. One very small problem was we had some difficulty operating the number-code device for unlocking the front door. It was a little hard to tell when a number that we pressed actually registered with the device. But ... that being said we were always able to get in, even if it took us a couple of minutes a few times.
